The Advisor, Finance and Accounting (Regulatory Reporting) is primary responsible of assisting the Manager, Reporting & Accounting Control, in the completion and filing of monthly and quarterly financial reports, regulatory reports, and financial analyses, along with providing support and guidance to other business units related to regulatory reporting, as requested. Will assist in the preparation of FDIC Call Reports, FED FR Reports, OCIF Easy Call Reports, among other regulatory reports and statutory financial statements. Acts as the supporting engine in the regulatory reporting function to ascertain external reporting to regulators is complete and accurate. Position works hybrid based in San Juan, PR.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Bank's Digital Transformation through the development of reports and databases to support the regulatory reporting process. Ensure that these are rendered on a timely basis and with the required quality level.
- Utilize system resources to extract and organize relevant business information for purposes of analysis and/or inclusion in monthly or quarterly regulatory financial reports.
- Provide support in the analysis of regulatory reports.
- Provide support to business units with financial regulatory reporting topics.
- Provide support in the data gathering and explanations for financial information requested as part of any Regulatory Examination or ad hoc.
- Assist in the organization and preparation of Regulatory Reporting training provided periodically to external business units.
- Perform ad hoc financial reports as requested, as well as other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.
- Other duties may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
- Three (3) years of experience in general accounting and working with the design and development of financial reports required. One (1) year of experience in banking or financial industry in areas such as Accounting, Finance, Risk, or Audit highly desirable.
- Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Fully bilingual – English and Spanish (verbal and written) required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and other business applications such as Access, Power Business Intelligence, SQL, Workday among others.
- Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Problem solving, organized, responsible, detail oriented and able to multitask.
WORK AUTHORIZATION & ELEGIBILITY:
- Legally authorized to work in the US is required. This position is of indefinite duration and requires candidates to have permanent or ongoing work authorization.
