ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The candidate selected for this position will perform all duties directed by the Assistant Dean for Experiential Education with input from the Chief Dental Officer and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. The candidate will be expected to perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
AEGD program development
Familiarity with and management of all program-related documents and reporting platforms including, but not limited to, resident employment, resident attendance, faculty onboarding, resident licensure, resident requirements, resident and program outcomes, resident certification, and GME-related and program-related policies. Oversight and monitoring of all program-related evaluations and data reporting. Orientation of new residents and faculty. Point-of-contact person for any issues related to the AEGD program.
Quality Assurance
Implementation of quality improvement (QI) measures across the AEGD program to ensure the highest level of patient care and residency learning are being always provided. Utilizing proactive approaches to mitigate errors and root cause analysis to reduce errors. Frequent travel to practice sites to ensure faculty and resident experiences are being met.
Accreditation
The program director will ensure that the AEGD Program Director meets all standards required by the Commission of Dental Accreditation (CODA). This includes preparation for internal program audit (future mock visits) and ensuring compliance of all practice sites within the oral health network.
Education
Continuing development of residency curriculum, faculty calibration, evidence-based care guidelines, continuing education, and teaching pre-doctoral students in accordance with the needs of the Assistant Dean of Curriculum and Innovation.
