The Kenneth F. Kahn School of Law at High Point University invites applicants to serve as its Legal Support Specialist to support the law school’s Clinical Programs. The mission of the law school’s Clinical Programs is to provide law students with the practical experience of working with real clients and communities on real cases under the supervision of clinical faculty.
The Legal Support Specialist’s main responsibility is to aid lawyers at the law school clinics to ensure that clients receive the best possible representation. The Legal Support Specialist will have substantial administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment involving competing priorities and deadlines. The selected candidate will provide overall administrative support to the school’s clinic attorneys and numerous law students who represent the clinics’ clients. The selected candidate will assist clinic faculty and students with litigation responsibilities, including the preparation and collation of documents for filings, proofreading legal documents, research, calendar management, and maintaining client files. The position presents the exciting opportunity to work with and directly support clinic faculty and students as the School of Law continues to expand and welcome its second incoming class this fall.
Position Description
- Three or more years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Prior experience in a law office or legal non-profit environment is preferred.

- Strong organizational and time management skills and keen attention to detail.

- Proactive work style and history of collaborative teamwork.
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills sufficient to work effectively with School of Law faculty, staff, students, and clinic clients.
- Ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in computer applications and a good understanding of databases (systems used: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Docs, and Zoom).
