Regional Catastrophe Supervisor

$67,630-$98,687 minimum starting pay

Job Level -Supervisor

Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands.  Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.

What You Will Be Doing:

Coordinates and supervises work of personnel involved in claims adjusting and processing activities. Monitors and reviews claim files processed by supervised personnel to ensure proper handling in accordance with policy provisions, established procedures and legal obligations of the Companies. Makes decisions to assign claims to independent adjusters and may oversee processing of the claim by independent adjusters. Assists with selection and training and is responsible for continuing development of personnel directly or indirectly supervised. Maintains current knowledge and understanding of policy provisions, company procedures, and state laws governing claims handling. May be assigned duties with regard to catastrophe teams. Supports compliance with the innovation training and use of all tools used in the department.

What We're Looking For:

  • Superior leadership and communication skills, both orally and written are required.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply insurance policies, claims laws and management reports is required.
  • Completion of Associate in Claims coursework is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance claims operations, and specifically of Shelter's policies and claims procedures is strongly preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 months with the responsibility for the direct supervision, training, professional development, and scheduling of adjusters; OR prior Shelter or AmShield claims handling experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, both orally and written are required.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
