Performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or the clinical director or designee.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs comprehensive testing, analysis and associated interventions under the direction of the technologists, medical director or designee.
  • Demonstrates competency in ensuring patient safety at all times.
  • Effectively communicates with patients, family members, hospital staff and physicians.
  • Provides appropriate patient care and anticipates patient/family needs and comfort.
  • Abides by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Basic computer and software skills.
  • General medical terminology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in every aspect of the role.
  • Superb organization skills, follow-through and attention to detail.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program.

REQUIRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • AHA BLS is required upon hire.
  • Successful completion of ASTEP certification within two years of hire.

PREFERRED LICENSE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • Registered or Certified Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Registered Sleep Technologist.
  • ACLS.
