Director of On-Campus Recruiting

Responsible for organizing and directing all aspects of on-campus recruiting, prospect communications and high school relations. Establish and arrange all logistics, and travel accommodations for recruited prospects for the Liberty Football program. Attention to detail and great communication with recruiting directors is important. It is important for this position to be a problem solver with progressive thinking. Must abide by all NCAA rules and regulations and be responsible for promoting an atmosphere of compliance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize all on campus recruiting functions for official visits.  This may include travel procurement, communication with athletic compliance, business office, facilities and travel agent. 

  • Participate all major on campus recruiting events. (Official Visits, Unofficial Visits, JR Days, Walk-On Days, Summer Camp) and oversees functionality during events.
  • Update ARMS recruiting database and establish an effective and efficient recruiting plan to solidify commitments.
  • Establish the PSA academic tracking process and make sure appropriate research and documentation is present for all recruits visiting families before arrival.
  • Direct and execute all unofficial visits and recruiting processes needed to on campus interactions and planning.   Work with Athletics Compliance Office staff to insure football meets NCAA specific rules.
  • Responsible for planning and preparing for registration efforts on the frontend to make sure the event takes place smoothly for prospective student-athletes.
  • Review and consult the financial process for on campus visits, junior days and camps. 
  • Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

This position will supervise student workers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Masters preferred. Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and regulations. 
  • 3-5 years of experience and must be up to date on technologies.

  • Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer skills

  • Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

  • May be required to travel
  • May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
  • Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting.  It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.  Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.  

Driving Requirements

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel.  Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.
