Plans and administers professional nursing care in an operating room.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Evaluate, plan, implement, and document individualized nursing plan of care for patients ranging from 4 months - geriatric.
- Direct the work of technical or assistive staff supporting the operating room.
- Verify patient identity prior to surgery and confirm that all orders and consent forms are in place.
- Monitor the patient and assist the surgeon during the procedure.
- Must be able to demonstrate unit-specific competencies required by unit-specific checklists.
- Meet scheduling requirements including nights, weekends, holidays, and/or call.
- Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
- Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
Required License/Certifications/Registrations
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Kansas or compact state
- Healthcare Provider BLS from approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first.

- BSN strongly preferred
- Previous Operating Room experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to apply the basic principles of nursing.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Keyboarding skills and basic computer skills.
- Multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

- Medium Work: Occasionally exerting up to 50 lbs - constantly exerting up to 10 lbs. 26-50% of the day may be standing or walking.
