The Research Laboratory for Dr. Maheshi Dassanayake is searching for a 2 year postdoctoral researcher. The candidate will investigate plant genome evolution related to stress adaptation and robust growth that can be described in some habitats as invasive growth and conduct development of transgenic plants for extremophytes to support project goals under GR-00012054 and GR-00013946.
Duties include:
40% Extract DNA/RNA and conduct plant cloning studies
30% Conduct comparative genomic and evolutionary analyses
20% Writing manuscripts
10% Assist graduate student projects and training
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Biological Sciences or related with 2 experience in growing extremophytes and Arabidopsis and using standard molecular cloning and computational biology methods.
Job competencies required:
Advanced in plant cloning. Proficient in growing extremophytes and Arabidopsis and using standard molecular cloning and computational biology methods; Conduct genomic and transcriptomic analyses.
Beginner in writing bioinformatics pipelines.
