In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

The Dance Division Assistant works closely with members of the Boston Conservatory at Berklee (BCB) Dance Division on a variety of departmental initiatives, including program coordination, event planning, communications, administrative support, and other duties as assigned. This position operates in a hybrid format, with both in-person and remote responsibilities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provide general administrative support for the Dance Division office. 

  • Help update class schedules, rehearsal calendars, and studio reservations.

  • Assist with communication to students, faculty, and accompanists. 

  • Support division events such as performances, masterclasses, and guest residencies. 

  • Help with costume coordination. 

  • Maintain organization of office supplies, classroom supplies, ice machines, files, and digital documents. 

  • Assist with special projects or other tasks assigned by the Assistant to the Dean, the Dean or the Chair. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Familiarity with various platforms like Smartsheet and Google Suite (Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Drive, etc.) 

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills 

  • Responsive and dependable 

  • Enthusiastic team player who also works well independently 

  • Fast learner

  • Ability to commit to a consistent weekly work schedule
