The 2-Year Post-Doctoral Researcher will plan and conduct biomedical and pharmaceutical research in cancer research and the drug design and discovery research area. Write original research articles and reviews in pharmaceutical and biomedical research. May be required to perform some support or assistance of academic programs (e.g. teaching, lab assistance, and maintaining the lab).

Job Responsibilities:
50%- To plan and conduct biomedical and pharmaceutical research in drug design and discovery research, writing and editing manuscripts, posters, review articles. Laboratory management and teaching graduate and undergraduate students laboratory skills.
40%- Support BioMMed and Louisiana Biomedical Research Network (LBRN) to manage and enhance the LBRN training platform and assist in grant writing for BiMMed and LBRN purposes.
10%- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in related coursework in discipline/specialty area, and one (1) year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Biological, Chemistry, Biomedical or Pharmaceutical Sciences; and two or more (2+) years of experience.
Biomedical Research experience, Molecular Biology, Cell culture analytical and microscopy work. Experience with molecular biology techniques, extensive experience in Western blot is required, cell culture, protein purification, peptide synthesis and purification, in the drug discovery research area is highly desirable. Experience with analytical methods such as HPLC for purification, and microscopy work is desired. Experience in bioinformatics and computational biology is desired. Should be able to learn in vivo related work.
Physical and Special Qualifications:
The two-year postdoctoral researcher is a temporary position limited to no more than two years. Appointment provisions related to the two-year postdoctoral researcher job are outlined in FASOP HR-02.
Requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching (above shoulder), reaching (below shoulder), vision (near sight), pushing/pulling, and lifting less than 50 pounds.
