The Event Coordinator provides overarching support and coordination for event and parking operations, ensuring that staff, resources, and processes are aligned to meet the needs of visitors, events, and campus partners. The role serves as a central point for facilitating communication and collaboration across teams to help operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities
The Event Coordinator assists with the full event and reserved space process from planning through execution, including preparation, set-up, staffing, scheduling, and breakdown. The role coordinates logistics by providing regular status updates and reports on event and space operations and supporting cost-efficient production methods for setup. During events and for reserved spaces, the Event Coordinator provides on-site support by overseeing parking lot operations, directing staff, assisting attendees, and ensuring efficient use of parking resources. The position works in coordination with law enforcement, campus partners, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and the smooth execution of all events and reserved space arrangements. (65%)
The Event Coordinator supports the daily operations of events and the Union Square Garage by supervising and scheduling guest service student employees, coordinating large-scale events within the Garage, and developing and facilitating training to ensure staff are knowledgeable about parking regulations, campus information, and customer service practices. (20%)
Coordinates the use of technology and systems to support visitor and event parking operations, ensuring tools are effectively integrated into workflows, accessible to staff, and aligned with overall event and parking processes. The role helps facilitate smooth operations by connecting staff, technology, and campus partners in a coordinated and efficient manner. (10%)

Additional Requirements
Vehicle Operation - This position requires a valid driver's license, will require an MVR, and is subject to drug screens per PM-33/PS-67/FASOP HR-04.
Operation Essential Personnel - This position is considered operational essential and may be asked to work during an official closure, but is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure, and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
Additional Information
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time in outdoor and indoor conditions. Ability to operate a 2-way radio. This position requires extensive overtime to be worked as needed. Must be able to work night and weekend shifts.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with related experience

Minimum Certifications/Licenses
Class E or equivalent LA Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of supervisory, management, or leadership experience.
Job Competencies
Ability to plan, organize, and execute transit and parking logistics for campus events of varying scale. (Proficient)
Strong verbal and written skills (Proficient)
Ability to quickly assess situations and implement solutions when unexpected issues arise (Proficient)
