Assist the anatomic pathologists in the diagnostic services, teaching, and research.
Job Responsibilities:
50%- Assist LSU Veterinary Medicine anatomic pathologists in diagnostic services (necropsy and biopsy).
40%- Investigate cases and/or diseases leading to presentations at conferences and peer-reviewed scientific publications associated with the pathology field.
5%- Assist pathologists with teaching pathology to VMED students. Other duties as assigned.
5%- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
DVM or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Specific Experience: Keen interest in the study of pathology and study of disease processes. Ability to perform necropsy on various animal species including large animals.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Emergency Essential Personnel - This position may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18.

Requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching (above shoulder), reaching (below shoulder), vision (near sight), vision (far sight), twisting, pushing/pulling, grasping, squatting, lifting more than 50 pounds, and lifting less than 50 pounds.
Expected to work after hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Able to discuss cases with veterinarians and/or owners via phone or in person.
