The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University is searching for an Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine. This position will be clinical track.
Job Responsibilities:
70% Provide direct patient care for animals presented to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, participate in and help supervise the small animal internal medicine service of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, cooperate with other clinical faculty in the clinical and hospital practice, support the emergency duty clinicians through provision or supervision of the small animal internal medicine service when requested, participate in the didactic and tutorial instructional programs of the School of Veterinary Medicine, cooperate with other faculty members in the development of teaching programs, visual aids and other instructional materials.
25% Participate in the School’s research program, residency training and participate in the continuing education and public relations programs of the School of Veterinary Medicine.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Assistant Professor: DVM or equivalent
-Associate Professor: DVM or equivalent and 5 years of related research/teaching/clinical experience
-Full Professor: DVM or equivalent and 10 years of related research/teaching/clinical experience
Specific Experience:
-Assistant Professor: Must have successfully completed a residency training program accredited by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or European equivalent.
-Associate Professor: Must have board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or European equivalent.
-Full Professor: Must have board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or European equivalent.
Minimum Certifications/Licenses: State Faculty license to practice veterinary medicine.
Preferred Certifications/Licenses: Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or equivalent.
**May be required to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.**
