Job Title:
SONHP CNA _ Clinical InstructorJob Summary:
The Certified Nurse Assistant Training (CNA) was developed and implemented in Fall 2014 by Rev. Timothy S. Godfrey, SJ, to provide low-income high school students from Cristo Rey Schools an opportunity to gain experience, skills, and a certification upon which to build their future professional healthcare careers. This program targets students considering nursing or other healthcare professions. It seeks to diversify the healthcare workforce by creating a pipeline for students from underserved communities who may not otherwise consider a healthcare career.Full Job Description:
The Clinical Instructor will lead the CA DPH CNA program licensing process, complete the necessary documentation —including the curriculum, modules, and team —and be responsible for keeping the license up-to-date.
When the program is active, the Clinical Instructor plans and teaches the theory modules and supervises the students during their clinical experience. They evaluate each student according to the school’s grading standard and work with students to make up any missed classes or clinical experiences. The Instructor reviews the students' progress with the school's Principal at mutually agreeable points throughout the curriculum and will notify the Principal of any concerns regarding student performance.
The Clinical Instructor educates and evaluates the students according to the guidelines provided by the state.
