ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responds to all calls for emergency/non-emergency care at Casino and provides courteous and expeditious customer service to the general public, employees and Tribal Citizens.
2. Completes Employee Injury and Illness Statement Forms, Electronic Patient Care Reports and Voluntary Statement Forms as needed.
3. Assesses nature and extent of injury or illness based on: statements of person involved, examination of patient, and knowledge of emergency medical practice.
4. Inventory, maintain and restock Casino medical supplies and automatic external defibrillators (AEDs), bleeding control kits, and stair chairs throughout the facility daily.
5. Administers emergency medical care to treat patients; performs Basic Life Support (BLS); assists paramedics with Advance Life Support (ALS) protocols.
6. Works 12-Hour shifts and overtime; may be recalled or held on duty according to the response needs of the Department
7. Provide daily mass gathering/multiple casualty emergency medical care during special events.
8. Presents themselves in a professional, courteous, and punctual way.
9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Calmly and professionally responds to calls for emergency medical assistance and public safety issues within assigned venue or event area.
Coordinates and arranges emergent and non-emergent transport for patients to higher level of care.
Communicates effectively with venue or event staff and other local officials to provide critical information.
Utilize medical equipment and procedures as required to provide appropriate and high-quality patient care.
Properly generate and submit all required response and patient care documentation.
Properly maintain all issues uniforms and response gear and utilize all personal protective equipment. Principles and practices of emergency medical care.
Monitor and maintain the condition of first aid offices and medical gear, ensuring that all supplies and equipment are in-date and in proper working order.
Follow all policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all established report times.
Maintain prompt and regular attendance.
Communicates public health/safety issues to venue staff and internal management. Operation and maintenance of emergency medical equipment.
Safety practices and precautions pertaining to work.
Basic knowledge of computers and programs to include MS Office, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Read and understand departmental policies, rules, regulations, and emergency medical care instructions.
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and explain them to others.
Communicates clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, with proper spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Operates a two-way radio to communicate with the communications center.
Analyze situations and adopt a quick, effective and responsible course of action.
Work effectively with other employees and the general public.
Maintain confidential information.
Provide BLS CPR Instruction to the workforce and Tribal community
Provide First Aid Instructions to the workforce and Tribal community
Provide Stop the Bleed Instruction to the workforce and Tribal community
Participate in safety meetings at the department level
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
REQUIRED:
EMT-B (Must be valid in State of California).
Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Healthcare Provider or equivalent.
Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness (CSTI or equivalent).
ICS 100-Introduction to ICS.
IS 700 NIMS: An Introduction.
PREFERRED:
ICS 200-Basic ICS.
IS 800 The National Response.
Current AHA CPR Instructor.
Accredited First Aid Instructor.
Select One of the Following: Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
