Job Summary
An operations officer ii performs professional work in planning, coordinating or directing an administrative, programmatic or technical operation for an agency. Work of this class involves supervising professional or technical personnel and may involve supervising clerical or paraprofessional personnel. Incumbents receive managerial supervision from an administrative superior. Employees in this class work a conventional work week. This position may require occasional evening work or weekend hours based on community needs. Work is performed in an office where work conditions are normal and may sometimes require responses directly to community activities. Work requires minimal physical exertion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Graduate degree in social science, public policy, public health, criminology, or related field preferred.
AND
Experience: A minimum of 1 years’ experience in community/youth programming, violence prevention, community outreach and engagement, project management, and/or public administration.
OR
Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Background Check

Probation
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a 1 year mandatory probation.
