Alpine Ski Team Assistant Coach

Core Responsibilities
- Technical Instruction: Teach and refine skiing fundamentals, techniques, and sport-specific conditioning programs.
- Athlete Development: Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes, fostering their academic, athletic, and personal growth.
- Logistical Support: Help manage program logistics, including preparing training and travel schedules, budgeting, and coordinating equipment and uniforms.
- Recruitment & Retention: Assist in scouting and recruiting talented athletes and building relationships to ensure their success and continued participation in the program.
- Performance Monitoring: Assess player skills, monitor performance during practices and competitions, and provide constructive feedback to the head coach.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: A proven background in alpine skiing and several years of coaching experience at the high school or college level.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with athletes, parents, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Leadership: The ability to serve as a positive role model and leader for athletes, maintaining appropriate conduct at all times.
- Technical Proficiency: Competency with video analysis and social media platforms for marketing and communication.
- Certification: Meeting the specific requirements of governing bodies like the NCAA or USCSA.
Common Duties
- On-Snow Operations: Conducting practices, designing training plans, and adapting daily programs based on snow conditions.
- Record-Keeping: Documenting athlete progress, injuries, and performance data for evaluation and record.
- Team Operations: Coordinating team activities, assisting with awards ceremonies, and managing equipment inventories.
- Compliance: Ensuring the team adheres to all relevant NCAA, conference, and institution rules and regulations.
- Community Engagement: Representing the program at outreach, fundraising, and promotional events.
