Peer Success Advisor Job Description

Peer Success Advisors (PSAs) serve as leaders, role models, coaches, and peer advisors for undergraduate students throughout all stages of their Babson experience. In collaboration with Student Advising & Success, they provide guidance on course and concentration selection, navigating the curriculum, giving recommendations to resources in the Babson community and, most importantly, they provide a safe space for students to voice academic concerns in a peer context. 

Compensation

$16 per hour

Time Commitment

Starting Date: 8/20/25*

5 hours per week (average), and occasional night and weekend shifts plus required training.

Full academic year commitment

*Training occurs before classes begin. Those who live on campus will be able to move in early (8/19/2025)

August PSA Retreat:

Wednesday 8/20 & Thursday 8/21

9:00AM-3:00PM


Monthly PSA team Professional Development sessions

Eligibility Requirements

  • Enrolled full time undergraduate (unless approved to be part time)
  • Junior Year Status (by start date)
  • Good Academic and Community Standing

Required Skills 

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, self-directed work environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills
  • Experience using and maintaining a professional presence on social media
  • Interest in supporting students through academic planning and decision-making
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and creating a welcoming environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide academic advising to students in scheduled appointments or drop-ins hours
  • Support students with advising tools and registration resources
  • Connect students to other campus resources and offices
  • Plan and attend on-campus events and PSA-hosted activities
  • Help manage SAS social media and marketing
  • Promote SAS during incoming student orientation
  • Other duties as assigned
