Position Summary 
The Director of Maintenance reports directly to the Director of Aviation and includes administrative duties as well as actual aircraft maintenance. This role is also responsible for the development and management of our maintenance team members. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical team in accomplishing quality aircraft inspections, repair and preventive maintenance which conforms with government regulations and company standards to optimize the dispatch reliability & operational availability of the fleet.
  • Ensure safe maintenance and hangar operations.
  • Select and supervise supplemental support as needed (e.g. contract maintenance support)
  • Create and maintain annual maintenance operating budget
  • Establish and maintain records as required by FARs, OEM and company policies.
  • Establish maintenance safety rules and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain aircraft handling procedures.
  •  Ensure compliance with MMEL/MEL maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain communication & collaborate across departments and other organizations effectively & efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with all AD’s and SBs (or equivalent)
  • Act as a leader within the department to champion company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Aviation

Education/experience/Certifications

  •  Associate degree recommended (Bachelor’s preferred)
  •    A&P Certificate with an IA (preferred)
  •    ASTM/NCATT Avionics Electrical Technician Certificate (preferred)
  •    7 year’s relevant experience with at least 5 years in Corporate Aviation
  •  First-hand experience dealing with OEMs and third party maintenance providers
  •  U.S. Passport with ability to travel to any international destination

Other Requirements

  • Must be accessible by phone or email 24/7 except when on scheduled time off.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays as needed
  • Work hours can extend beyond normal office hours
  • Domestic and International travel required
  •  Previous leadership of technicians or similar typed roles required
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs. from floor to shoulder level
  •  Physical ability to perform all required job functions must not be hindered
  • Proficient in MS-Word and Excel (basic level)
  • Permanent residence within 60 minutes of KFTY
