GENERAL PURPOSE:
Keeps working areas in YESCO production facilities and departments in orderly condition by driving forklift and moving necessary items in the facility safely, effectively and efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Arranges boxes, material, and hand trucks or other industrial equipment in neat and orderly manner
Transports raw materials and semi finished products or supplies between departments or buildings to supply machine tenders or operators with materials for processing
Moves levers and presses pedals to drive forklift truck and control movement of lifting apparatus
Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area
Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device
Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, or lifting device
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitors parts and materials inventory
Handles takedowns of trailers and appropriately
Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:
Interacts daily with employees and supervisors at the YESCO facilities to discuss facility projects
Interacts daily with vendors to coordinate trash, waste, and recyclables removal

High school diploma or GED and up to one month of material handling or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos
Ability to safely and effectively operator a fork lift
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to move materials, equipment, and completed projects
Ability to communicate in person

Work is typically performed indoors. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; balance. Must be able to occasionally move objects in excess of 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities include: ability to adjust eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
