Job Description:

GENERAL PURPOSE:


Assistant Facilities Manager who oversees the day-to-day maintenance activities of multiple buildings, inside and outside.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grounds maintenance
  • Does lawn care, sprinkler system operation and repair, pruning, clean-up, window cleaning, roof repair, asphalt repair, snow removal, etc.
  • Creates maintenance schedules, records all repairs or updates on equipment and regular scheduled maintenance
  • Repairs and maintenance; i.e., electrical, plumbing, painting, cleaning


MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Orders office and janitorial supplies for offices and kitchen
  • Takes care of in-house vending machines, shipping and mailing supplies, copy machines, and record storage
  • Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned


NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:

  • Interacts with tenants
  • Interacts with staff in all departments

A High School Diploma or GED and five or more years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in facilities management and trade skills; or any combination of training, education and experience which provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines, as well as working independently
  • Ability to deal effectively and tactfully with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relative to maintenance and construction safety
  • Ability to operate computer, telephone, 10-key and other office equipment
  • Must have good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
  • Strong work ethic with an enthusiastic, positive attitude, and the highest level of integrity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance
