We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic co-op to join our Engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to learn and gain valuable experience while contributing to the success of our operations. The first rotation of this co-op will have an emphasis on Product Engineering.

What you’ll do:
- Learn in a dynamic environment that includes on-site manufacturing and lab for testing
- Work with a Product engineer to create mockups and prototypes
- Perform teardowns and competitive analysis
- Create CAD Drawings and influence design decisions
- Learn about and impact the content in our Design Guides, DFMEAs, and DVP&Rs
- Perform engineering analysis to support Product Changes
- Manage assigned projects using timing charts and open issues lists
- Support assigned project teams with product improvement recommendations
- Support cross-functional teams, providing exposure to all aspects of our business
- Maintain and enforce all company safety, environment and department requirements
What you’ll need:
- Currently Enrolled in an Engineering Program: Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- Strong Academic Record: Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) is a benefit.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and ability to read technical drawings.
- Solid mechanical skills to safely use equipment and machinery in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance Departments
- Communication and Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a team and with cross-functional departments.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Demonstrated analytical skills and a proactive approach to tackling engineering challenges.
- Availability: Must be able to commit to the full Co-op term. Work is primarily expected to follow a traditional 40-hour week.
- Authorization to Work: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
First Rotation Expectations:
- Investigate and develop options for optimized Blind Design:
- evaluate, calculate and test magnet decoupling forces vs operator resistance
- Design, build and test prototype design options
- Support day to day activities within the Product Development department. This may include prototype builds, peer design reviews, benchmarking, A3 problem solving, BOM reviews and design guide feedback.
Future Rotations:
- Area of focus for future rotations will be dependent on ODL resource needs and interests of the specific candidate. Potential focus areas include: Product Design, Validation Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Planning, and Product Management.
