The Director of Specialty Operations is responsible for co-defining and driving the operational execution of a portfolio of specialty care projects to transform our clinical model. This role ensures efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of specialty care, working in close collaboration with clinical and operational leadership. The Director of Specialty Operations drives standardization of processes, implements best practices, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to optimize patient care, access, and provider satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own the operational execution of Specialty care priorities including clinical pathways, curbside support, and co-located care; participate in strategic planning and own / drive implementation of new priorities as they arise
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Specialty Care, including virtual / collaborative care, physical operations, staffing, scheduling, care coordination, and internal testing & imaging; liaises Cross functionally to drive operational performance
- Manage and mentor leaders and related staff, providing guidance and support to ensure operational excellence at the clinic level (including field-level matrixed medical assistance, care coordinator, and front desk roles that directly or indirectly support internal specialists and contracted specialists who operate in our centers and require some level of coordination/support)
- Fosters a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement within and well beyond Specialty Care; coordinates tightly cross functionally across COEs and field
- Partners with referral Operations team (field, market, and central) to significantly improve care coordination and keep more care “in our house” through better processes
- Own and drive to resolution recurring operational and logistical problems faced by internal specialists to improve their efficiency and effectiveness
- Tight coordination with field leadership and staff to improve the execution of internal specialists including both employed and contracted staff
- Drive process improvement projects for Specialty Organization
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned specialty clinics and services, including staffing, scheduling, facilities, and equipment.
- Manage and mentor leaders, providing guidance and support to ensure operational excellence at the clinic level.
- Implement and monitor adherence to standardized operating procedures, care pathways, and clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate with clinical and operational leadership to develop and implement strategies to improve quality, access, and patient experience.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and accreditation standards.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Outstanding executive presence and communication skills; easily and clearly communicates and engages with widely diverse audiences and stakeholders
- Capable problem solver / systems thinker; able to handle significant complexity
- Ownership mentality / self-starter / drives issues to the ground
- High EQ and ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization
- Able to engage highly effectively in fast-paced, demanding environment with specialist physicians across a number of specialty areas (cardiology, nephrology, neurology, etc.)
- Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook; competent in other systems required for the position
- Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and/or nationally up to 30% of the time; flexible to work evening, weekends and/or holidays as needed
- Spoken and written fluency in English
- This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
- BA/BS degree in OR additional experience above the minimum may be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis
- A minimum of 10 years’ work experience in healthcare operations required, especially in multispecialty environment



PAY RANGE:
$140,268 - $200,383 Salary
