We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as a Director – West Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) for Multiple Myeloma. Internally known as a Thought Leader Liaison Director, this opportunity will lead the Opinion Leader Strategy and engagement of national and regional myeloma thought leaders to support current and future commercial strategy and tactics for Kite in the US market. This is a highly collaborative role that will work closely with the East TLL, Regional Marketing Directors, and cross-functional leaders across Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Operations & Analytics, and our strategic alliance partner.  

Reporting into the Executive Director Myeloma Marketing, the Director West TLL for Multiple Myeloma is field-based  with extensive travel (> 60%) to be expected. 

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Create, execute, and communicate a unified, Opinion Leader (OL) Strategy, and act as the strategic partner for U.S. Multiple Myeloma national and regional thought leaders, ensuring consistency in external engagements and internal communication. 

  • Lead cross-functional planning between Commercial and Medical Affairs for all opinion leader interactions at key congresses and meetings (e.g., ASH, ASCO, ASBMT / Tandem), providing one master plan for customer engagement. 

  • Lead the OL mapping database and engagement plan and socialize to ensure alignment of strategies, engagements, insights, and tactics. 

  • Lead the aggregation and regular dissemination of OL insights for the commercial marketing team to support development of marketing strategy and future tactics. 

  • Provide strategic insight and marketplace information to the organization and executive leadership. 

  • Map product and therapeutic area beliefs and sentiment to grow OL advocacy and support strategic imperatives and tactical plan. 

  • Support the US and Global Marketing Teams on strategic objectives, content, and planning relating to US MM OLs, including, but not limited to, advisory boards, programming capabilities, and educational meetings. 

  • Identify and execute regional and account tactics that support the strategic plan. 

  • Lead regional congress strategy and execution and provide strategic oversight of field sponsorships in collaboration with internal and alliance partners.  

  • Participate in marketing team meetings and manage OL and regional congress budget in collaboration with alliance and vendor partners. 

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional field-based partners (existing and future) to ensure aligned customer engagement and “one team” approach 

 

 

Basic Qualifications: 

Advanced scientific degree (i.e., MD, PharmD, PhD) and 8+ years of experience 

OR 

Master’s Degree and 10+ years of experience 

OR 

Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of experience 

OR 

Associate’s Degree and 14+ years of experience 

OR 

High School Diploma / GED and 16+ years of experience 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 12+ years of pharmaceutical / biotech industry experience, including prior sales experience in hematology / oncology and specifically in Multiple Myeloma 

  • Thorough understanding of the hematology / oncology clinical landscape, ideally with prior experience in cell therapy or stem cell transplant 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with oncology and cell therapy opinion leaders 

  • Willingness and aptitude to stay on the cutting edge of data readouts and communicate implications to Kite 

  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic, exciting work environment 

  • Excellent verbal / written communication skills 

  • Prior leadership experience 


 

The salary range for this position is: $191,250.00 - $247,500.00. Kite considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
