Job Title: Associate, Business Management
Reports to: Global COO of Investment Banking
Department: Investment Banking
Location: New York
Salary: $115,000-$135,000
The Associate, Business Management will play a critical role in supporting the strategic, financial, and operational initiatives of the Investment Banking division. This individual will partner closely with sector business managers and senior bankers to drive data accuracy, operational discipline, and execution of key management processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
• Support business managers in collecting and consolidating regular pipeline updates from bankers across the investment banking group
• Track and analyze key metrics, including revenues, expenses, deals done away (DDAs), and pipeline trends to support management reporting
• Assist in preparing materials and updates for internal presentations, monthly prospect calls, and strategic planning sessions
• Prepare client invoices and process approvals in the Databasic system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Support expense management processes by reviewing approvals for alignment with firm policies
• Perform weekly reviews of the Ziplip compliance system for the Investment Banking group and escalate issues as needed
• Oversee the due diligence process and facilitate regular review with coverage bankers
• Manage the closing file process, ensuring all transaction files are completed, organized, and archived in a timely manner
• Maintain and update blast lists and CRM databases to ensure accuracy of client and deal data
• Partner with the IB technology team to identify and implement process improvements that streamline manual workflows and enhance data integrity
• Support sector business managers with quarterly league table and fee pool analysis
• Coordinate ad hoc projects such as market updates, management reporting requests, and data analysis to support senior management
• Contribute to the standardization of business processes and development of best practices across teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in investment banking, financial services, consulting, or a similar analytical/operational role
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and produce actionable insights
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM systems, pipeline tools, or BI platforms is a plus
• Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly synthesize information
• Self-starter with a process-improvement mindset and comfort operating in a dynamic environment
