Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Make final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.

• Create section views, auxiliary views, and orthographic projection

• Uses Computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software

• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings

• Utilizes 3D CAD design software and 3D printer to make sample parts for rapid prototyping

• Draws charts for representation of statistical data.

• Draws finished designs from sketches.

• Creates coordinate, ordinate, and baseline dimensions on drawings.

• Creates graphics for technical instructions and catalogs.

• Makes any adjustments or changes necessary.  Make revisions to existing drawing files.

• Creates Bill of Material and Assembly drawings.

• Creates engineering drawings from physical parts.

• Inks in lines and letters on pencil drawings as required.

• Plots, prints and copies engineering and shop drawings.

• Uses basic mechanical measuring equipment. (calipers, micrometer, scales, height gauge)
