Location & Schedule

The office hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 8:00AM - 5:00PM, and Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM. This position is in-person and will report to the Denver City and County Building located at, 1437 Bannock St, Denver, CO 8020

The mission of Denver County Court is to administer justice fairly, efficiently and effectively; provide excellent customer service, and foster a positive environment where employees enjoy their work.  The City and County of Denver’s third branch of government is comprised of 19 judges, 4 full-time magistrates, and 300 staff members. Case types include civil, small claims, traffic, criminal, and other general sessions cases within the City and County of Denver. The Division

The combined Traffic and Civil Division is the highest volume division in Denver County Court- serving more than 100,000 customers a year. We are committed to helping people, creating and maintaining an accurate court record, and providing support services to the Judicial Officers.

What You'll Do

Specific job duties as an Operational Court Division Supervisor include:

  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Traffic and Civil Division

  • Direct Reports will include the Protection Order and Small Claims Courtroom, Judicial Assistant II Customer Service Staff and specialized Judicial Associate I Rovers

  • Assigned work hours are Monday thru Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 4:30pm

  • Implement procedure changes as directed from the bench and administration

  • Act as liaison between court participants, court personnel, judicial officers, and stakeholders of the court

  • Develop and write procedures

  • Coach and train employees, while providing valuable feedback

  • Make recommendations to leadership regarding workplace trends

What You'll Bring

The ideal candidate will have integrity and a strong commitment to public service. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Supervisory experience

  • Two (2) to three (3) years working in a court or legal field

  • Experience working collaboratively within a Management Team

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field

  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience performing technical, paraprofessional, and/ or administrative work

  • Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.

  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements

  • License/Certifications: None
