What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. While the full salary range for this position is $26.84 - $40.27/year, the hiring range is $26.84 - $33.55/year, based on experience and education.

Location

The Denver Clerk & Recorder’s office is located at 200 W. 14th Ave., immediately south of the City & County Building. Office hours are typically 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Dependent on business needs, some roles have remote work and flexible schedule options with manager approval.

The Denver Office of the Clerk and Recorder is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated in-person Recording Lead Supervisor. Additionally, the Recording Lead Supervisor:

  • Provides guidance and direction on day-to-day activities associated with recording department operations and Ensures goals/workloads are being met and makes recommendations into process/policy efficiencies.
  • Ensures appropriate staff level loading are properly allocated amongst the team, maintains, and develops coverage work plans, determines work priorities and adequate coverage due to absences and time off requests.
  • Reviews, accepts, rejects, or corrects work done by the recording staff; As part of the quality assurance process, reports, resolves, and documents instances of work found to be done incorrectly to the department manager and Chief Operating Officer; ensures eRecording queue is at statute.
  • Distributes and balances workload in the absence of the manager or as specifically assigned by the manager; provides advice on staffing decisions and aids the manager and Chief Operating Officer with workflow planning as requested.
  • Reviews, accepts, rejects, or corrects work done by the recording staff; as part of the quality assurance process for end of day records by checking affidavits, death certificates and miscellaneous records at the end of the day to find any sensitive information, completes the redactions and notifies the staff person that recorded it of the error, checking the entire day to ensure all records recorded have green check marks, checks marriage applications (paper and electronic) to ensure they are scanned in the central repository, aren’t missing signatures and are the appropriate parties.
  • Provides training and ongoing support to Recording Specialists, acting as a subject matter expert and resource for customer questions, issues or concerns that arise.
  • Provides input into hiring, promotions, disciplinary action, performance evaluations and may participate in presenting performance evaluations with the Recording Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
  • Collaborates with other department leads to ensure applicable reporting is completed and appropriate workflows are efficient amongst departments.
  • Informs Recording Manager and Chief Operating Officer of issues that arise, provides input, makes recommendations, and relays solutions/changes to Recording staff.
  • Supervise and coordinate a team of 6 employee’s activities who perform the recording department duties which supports the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and training.  Participate in hiring interviews and selection of candidates in the recordings department.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of clerical or technical experience.
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
