The position exists to provide onsite supervision and support to the UVMMC patient logistic center and the University of Vermont Health Network Regional Transfer Center staff. Working with the staff and the Manager of the RTC, this position operationalizes the interfacility patient flow operations of the University of Vermont Health Network Hospitals. This includes direct operations of the one call philosophy to ensure the care and resources that are needed for the patients in our region are in keeping with the Regional Transfer Center Guiding Principles. In collaboration with the Manager, oversees the daily operations of the UVMHN Regional Transfer Center, UVMMC Patient Logistic Center (PPS) (bed placement) and the communication and centralized dispatch of the Regional Transfer Center. The Regional Transfer Center Supervisor and must demonstrate excellence in leadership, problem solving, communication and teamwork. He/she collaborates with administrators and other members of the health network hospitals bed placement, and administrative teams. She/he will evaluate and improve patient care systems and processes working with all network partners.

Either an RN or paramedic with qualifications below:

  • Registered Nurse or NREMT or higher with licensure in Vermont upon hire.
  • Nursing: BSN required
  • NREMT: Associates degree required, Bachelors preferred.

Experience:

  • Leadership experience of 5 or more years
  • Previous experience working in a transfer center or bed placement department preferred
  • Case management experience preferred
  • Emergency Department and/or Critical Care experience required
  • Demonstrated success within the field of health care operations
  • Demonstrated success with building a strong service-oriented team
