Business Line Manager - Rotary Drilling and Automation

Sandvik Mining is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

The Business Line Manager - Rotary Drilling and Automation focus is to lead and represent Rotary Drilling and Automation within Sales Area USA, driving market share growth, customer satisfaction, and strategic execution of rotary drilling, surface and underground automation initiatives. This role is pivotal in advancing solution-based selling and reinforcing the strategic importance of rotary drilling technologies. Additionally, the role is responsible for building and leading high-performing teams to execute strategic goals effectively.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development & Sales Execution

- Promote and support sales efforts across Rotary and Automation portfolios.
- Engage directly with customers, dealers, and internal sales teams.
- Lead product presentations, training, and competitive analysis.
- Champion solution selling by aligning customer needs with integrated offerings across drilling and automation.
- Position rotary drilling as a core strategic lever for growth, emphasizing its role in productivity, safety, and cost-efficiency.

- Conduct Surface Mining product and application studies

Strategic Planning & Market Expansion

- Develop and execute business plans in collaboration with Rotary and Digitec.
- Introduce new products and technologies to the market.
- Align offerings with DIGITEC and Surface strategy growth plans into SA USA
- Identify and pursue Underground Automation growth opportunities, including:
  - Market segmentation and customer targeting.
  - Collaboration with Underground Rotary and Digitec Divisions on product roadmap.
  - Piloting and scaling Underground and Surface automation solutions.

Operational Leadership

- Forecast and manage equipment orders, Invoice, margin (GGP%) and inventory.
- Coordinate market data for product innovation and lifecycle support.
- Standardize pricing strategies across the Sales Area USA.
- Monitor rotary drill market share and develop corrective strategies where needed.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Leadership

- Participate in Sales Area Management Team
- Support succession planning and local competence development.
- Share responsibilities across Rotary and Automation to optimize cost and impact.
- Work closely with Automation and Rotary teams to ensure alignment and synergy in automation strategy.
- Build and lead high-performing teams by fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor and develop team members to enhance capabilities and performance.

Available for travel around 50% of the time to attend customer visits and internal/external meetings.
