Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Electrical Wiring Lead - Pool Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.  The position is based in Batesburg, SC.

The Electrical Wiring Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the electrical wiring team within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures that all electrical wiring tasks are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule, in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. The Lead will provide hands-on support, training, and leadership to team members while coordinating with other departments to meet production goals.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage the work and coordinate the activities of the electrical wiring team.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to guide wiring tasks.
  • Ensure proper installation of wiring harnesses, control panels, and electrical components.
  • Conduct quality checks and troubleshooting wiring issues to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Train and mentor team members on best practices, safety procedures, and technical skills.
  • Monitor inventory of electrical components and coordinate with procurement as needed.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and team performance.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
  • Must be flexible to work 2nd shift as business needs dictate.

Required skills/experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical wiring assembly with additional experience in quality inspection and/or testing in a manufacturing environment 
  • 1+ years of demonstrated informal leadership  
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring standards, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documents.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment

Working environment:

  • Requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Technical Certification or Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology preferred.

Language:

English Proficiency
