Job Description:
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to the following:*
- Provide diagnostic services, clinical counseling and recommendations for pupils with special needs.
- Provide Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) as required in the student Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Observe students; assess, evaluate, analyze, diagnose, and write psychological reports and IEP goals.
- Participate in the decision-making process regarding appropriate/beneficial placement of students.
- Provide training, group counseling and collaborative interventions with the school psychologist as needed.
- Participate in Individual Education Program meetings with students and parents as needed.
- Provide parent counseling and training.
- Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies.
- Participate in crisis intervention and/or risk management.
- May oversee the administrative and clinical supervision of school based therapist interns to ensure delivery of a thorough program.
- Facilitates active and on-going training of interns, which may include collaboration with various universities.
- Analyzes program effectiveness and implements strategies for improvements.
- Communicates monthly with Director of Special Education on caseload, program implementation, progress, program monitoring and evaluation.
- Maintain documentation of service provision related to IEP monitoring, service logs, billing systems, and work time and submit weekly, unless otherwise specified.
- Maintains knowledge of and abides by federal and state regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Knowledge of State and Federal Laws and current best practices related to Educationally Related Mental Health Services.
- Experience with adolescents with successful outcomes related to learning.
- Knowledge of evaluation and research techniques, strategies and procedures.
- Excellent written and oral skills.
- Ability to communicate well with students, parents and teachers.
- Ability to travel to various school sites for the purpose of providing direct treatment or attend meetings.
- Ability to maintain the culture of the organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
- Five years clinical experience preferred.
- Experience working within a school system.
- Bilingual.
- Ability to provide in person and virtual services on a HIPPA and FERPA compliant secure platform.
- PPS credential in School Psychology.
Education and Experience:
- Must be a licensed mental health professional (i.e. Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor)
