Job Description:

The Senior Director, Controller is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, global payroll, and financial reporting functions of Altera. This role ensures the integrity of financial data, supports strategic decision-making, and drives continuous improvement in financial processes. This position reports directly to the CAO, and partners closely with the CFO and other senior leaders to align financial management with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership

  • Lead the global accounting organization, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll functions.

  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.

  • Provide strategic guidance on financial reporting risk management, and operational efficiency.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Oversee preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations (as applicable), and other statutory requirements.

  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors, regulators, and tax authorities.

Operational Excellence

  • Drive automation and modernization of accounting systems and processes.

  • Establish KPIs and dashboards to monitor financial performance and operational efficiency.

  • Lead initiatives to improve working capital management and cash flow forecasting.

Strategic Partnership

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to support organizational scale and other strategic initiatives.

  • Provide financial insights to guide business decisions

Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global accounting team, with significant operations in the US and in Malaysia.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional development.

  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the finance organization.

Salary Range 

 

The pay range below is for Bay Area California only. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance.  

$200.4K - $290.1K USD

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required, MBA preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls.

  • Proven track record of leading large accounting teams and managing complex financial operations.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
