Job Description:

Barry-Wehmiller Corporate Finance is offering a summer internship that will expose candidates to Financial Integrity, Corporate Accounting and Tax, and Finance Shared Services functions.  This position provides a unique opportunity to observe how corporate finance functions are managed and executed in a shared services setting.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Participate in Peer Reviews, assist with execution of the quarterly Corporate Oversight process, and support other Financial Integrity projects as assigned
  • Support BW’s global ERP implementation project or other Corporate Accounting projects as assigned
  • Support Finance Shared Services Accounts Receivable team projects as assigned and assist with day-to-day accounts receivable transaction processing, including portal invoice submission, cash application, customer inquiries/requests, customer master data maintenance, and invoicing
  • Support Finance Shared Services Accounts Payable team projects as assigned and assist with day-to-day accounts payable transaction processing, including vendor invoice processing, payment processing, vendor inquiries/requests, and vendor master data maintenance
  • Support Corporate Tax in the preparation of tax and local tax returns
  • Assist Corporate Finance with the automation of processes utilizing Microsoft Co-Pilot

Job Specifications:

  • Must be local to the St. Louis area
  • Available to work in the office Monday – Friday during the internship
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Excel and able to create pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas

Required Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled, college level student or recent college graduate with a degree in the areas of Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Junior, Senior or recent graduate preferred

Supervisory/Responsibility:

Individual contributor with no direct reports

Work Environment:

This is a corporate office position.

Position Type:

This position will work 30-35 hours a week depending on business needs.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those performed in the job duties.  The employee sits at a desk and uses a computer for prolonged periods of time.  Performing the role frequently uses close vision, speech, hearing, and dexterity to operate office equipment.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
