1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violations. 2. Practices hospital approved patient identifications procedures. 3. Communicates pertinent information and unfinished tasks to co-workers prior to breaks, lunches and end of shift to ensure continuity of workflow. 4. Provides safe and efficient transfer of patients. 5. Provides safe patient environment at all times; stays with patients who may be in danger of falling and hurting themselves, correctly identifies patient by use of armband. 6. Transports patients in a safe / comfortable manner to and from Department / Floors when necessary, reporting any changes that may occur during transport (SBAR). 7. Assists Technologists/Nursing staff with patient procedures as assigned. 8. Assists Nursing staff/Technologists with moving patients when necessary. 9. Notifies patient's RN prior to transport and upon return. 10. Notifies Nurse if patient needs taken off or put on monitor during ED transport. 11. Operates patient support equipment, such as: oxygen tanks (E tanks), Hovermats, and ergo-slide. 12. Maintains sanitizing gurneys and keeping them stocked. 13. Helps with Lab specimens when needed; routinely transports specimens from surgery to Lab. 14. Escorts visitors, patient’s families to waiting areas, cafeteria, etc.. 15. Performs dispatch duties as needed. 16. Stocks O2 / E tanks throughout the hospital. 17. Provides patient observation at the discretion of a nurse and communicates observations of patient condition changes to nurse. 18. Performs other duties as assigned.
