As the Court Procedures Intern, you will train to perform responsibilities attendant to the Court Procedures Group’s court filings and docketing and calendaring functions. The CP Intern performs these duties working in the close direction of the Court Procedures Managers and Attorneys.
What you do:
Assisting in the preparation, filing and service of documents submitted to the Group for filing with courts in all federal and state jurisdictions throughout the U.S.
Conduct docket research and document retrieval.
Assist in the preparation, issuance and service of process and subpoenas.
Assist in the initiation of actions both electronically and manually in federal and state courts.
Responsible for providing assistance and support to the Group’s docketing and calendaring system for firm litigation matters (“Goodwin LED”). In that role, the CP Intern is called upon to assist in project-related tasks at the direction of the LED Manager, including the opening and closing of matter calendars, tracking LED workload and conducting routine CompuLaw/Vision database administration.

Who you are:
Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree with a stated intention to pursue a career in the legal field. Relevant experience in a law firm setting a plus. Quality experience obtained during other internships may account for the required experience.
Professional demeanor, superior oral and written communication skills, strong client service skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.
Willingness to take a proactive approach to learning in the workplace.
