Job Details:

Our Culinary Science Summer Intern will gain experience in product development and participate in the following activities.

• Apply culinary arts experience in a research and development setting.
• Receive valuable mentorship from research chefs and food scientists.
• Assist chefs and food scientists in the development of new products, line extensions, or revisions of current products to improve product quality, profitability and/or competitiveness.
• Work on a specific project assigned to the intern and conclude with a brief report and presentation on the results of the project.
• Collaborate with cross-functional team members in marketing, sensory, nutrition, packaging, and ingredient suppliers.
• Gain hands-on experience with chicken, pork, beef, plant-based, foodservice, and retail products.
• Visit other Tyson facilities, including plants and labs.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: Candidates should be currently enrolled in school as an incoming junior, senior, or graduate level status required. Culinary Science majors preferred. Must have at least one semester of school remaining.

Experience: Culinary skills required. Must have experience working in a restaurant, hotel, food truck, or other foodservice setting.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task. Working knowledge of Zoom and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills.

Special Skills: Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment.
