Join Our Team as a Processing Lead Operator!


At Dura-Bar Metal Services we provide metal processing services—metal cutting, drilling and turning, milling and more. We are looking for a hand-on lead with a strong background in metals manufacturing and machining. As a Processing Lead Operator  you will work side-by-side with other operators setting up, running, and adjusting our machinery and equipment such as saws, lathes, mills, or inspection.

Pay: Receive starting pay of $29.50/hr, quarterly bonuses, & profit sharing

Position Specifics:

Shift: 1st shift! Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4pm

Location: Dura-Bar Metal Services, York PA: 90 Grumbacher Road York, Pennsylvania 17404

What you'll do:

  • Operate and assist with mills, saws, lathes, and inspection trestles to ensure product accuracy and tolerance.

  • Coordinate and delegate daily tasks for processing employees.

  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.

  • Perform quality assurance checks and ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Train team members on equipment use and standard procedures.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement process improvements.

  • Maintain accurate ERP system entries and uphold warehouse organization.

  • Support shipping and receiving functions.

  • Promote and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

What you'll need:

  • High School Diploma or GED. We can help with a free GEDworks program!

  • 3+ years of manufacturing and machining experience (band saws, lathes, trestles, mills).

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and ISO standards.

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and using measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometer).

  • Basic math skills

  • Skilled in operating forklifts, cranes, and basic tools (wood saw, pneumatic nail gun, banding equipment).

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

Nice to haves:

  • Prior manufacturing experience in the metal industry or CNC experience

  • Fork truck experience

  • Team Lead, Supervisor, leadership experience
