Job Description

This role is responsible for providing project controls support to program and project leadership in one or more of the areas of risk management, planning and scheduling, cost, estimating, and change management/trends across a variety of programs/projects. This role documents and captures the project plan developed by program/project leadership, monitors and measures performance against the plan, and reports on key data metrics back to program/project leadership.

 

Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities

• Provide project controls support to project teams.

• Help identify project risks and support the development of mitigation strategies.

• Maintain risk registers and ensure timely updates.

• Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, ensuring accurate timelines and resource allocation.

• Support program/project leadership in collecting progress and performance updates and updating schedules to reflect actual progress and changes.

• Track and monitor project budgets, expenses, and financial forecasts for assigned program/projects.

• Prepare cost reports and financial analyses.

• Create and distribute project status reports and performance dashboards to program/project leadership.

• Support the development of project metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and performance.

• Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.

• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

• Lead the execution the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document, without close supervision and some latitude for independent judgment.

• Based on assigned project, could lead estimate deliverables to clients.

• Based on assigned project, could review estimate work products and supporting documents to ensure accuracy.          

• Provide feedback and guidance to more junior team members with the execution of the core tasks and responsibilities listed in the Job Profile Task/Responsibilities section of this document.

• Risk Management-Specific

• Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of risk management plans, processes, procedures and guidelines.

• Aid in maintaining tools for performing risk identification, evaluation, trigger events, handling, reporting, monitoring and controlling actions.

• Assist and guide staff in the identification, communication, measurement, and management of enterprise-level and project-specific risks.

• Contribute to identifying and analyzing overlapping project risks with multiple teams or stakeholders.

• Maintain risk registers, guide and ensure timely updates.

• Support production and distribution of project status reports and performance dashboards to program/project leadership.

• Support development of project risk metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and performance.

• Support/lead the development of quantitative risk assessments, schedule risk analyses, and Quarterly Risk Assessment Reports.

• Engage with customers in joint risk management during customer development and capture.

• Provide general risk management support to the Business Development organization as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science (or other STEM field) is required.

• Typically, ten plus years’ experience in engineering, project management, risk management or related industry experience.

• Experience utilizing industry-known best practices in Risk Management

• Experience using project management software applications.

• Basic understanding of engineering documents and can derive understanding from them.

• Intermediate to advanced software application skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI).

• Experience maintaining risk registers, preferred.

• Experience using risk management information systems, preferred.

• Experience performing quantitative risk assessments, preferred.

• Familiar with project scheduling software, preferred.

• Experience in systems engineering, preferred.

Location: 530 Gaither Road, Rockville, MD

Work Schedule: 5 days a week in office 
Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri

Compensation

As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.).  Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them.  Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions.  Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives. 

A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is:

$125,000- $197,900
