The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for all duties in the Warehouse including selecting and coordinating carriers, researching shipping methods, assessing warehouse activities, and organizing storage. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail in order to oversee daily operations and logistics operators, excellent organizational skills, and possess in-depth knowledge of logistics and inventory systems. The role will have the following responsibilities:
Planning and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments.
Coordinating logistics operators, warehouse, transportation, and production needs of Raw material and Packaging.
Organizing warehouses including Storage locations, labeling Raw materials and Packaging.
Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
Coordinate, process, receipt and off-loading of Chemical Raw material.
Inbound and outbound checklists are performed every shipment.
Process outgoing shipments (locally and internationally)
Responding to any issues or complaints.
Working with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
Following GMP/ GWP, ISO, DOT and IATA rules and regulations.
Updating and evaluating metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
Ensuring all operations adhere to laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
Receiving all Raw materials, Packaging and Consumables in the ERP system.
Monitoring daily, weekly and monthly inspection and Inventory management.
Other duties as assigned
2+ years experience in a similar role.
Solid understanding of logistics and inventory management tools.
Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Team lead experience is a plus
Proven ability to perform quantitative analysis
Strong involvement with procurement and Supply Chain
Knowledge of using ERP system
Proficient in use of software programs such as Google tools and Microsoft office.
Chemical manufacturing experience would be beneficial
Cosmetic industry experience would be beneficial
Detail oriented and precise with scheduling shipments
Strong sense of ownership for assigned area and takes immediate action to resolve issues as they arise
Actively participate in the Richmond site safety culture
Driven to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, relevant field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
