Salary Range: $80- $135k

The Operations Manager is a member of the Site Leadership Team and is accountable for the execution of manufacturing and logistics operations in accordance with the manufacturing and shipping/receiving schedule.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:
The health and safety of employees and subcontractors in the manufacturing and warehouse areas
Ensuring manufacturing and warehouse employees receive the training necessary to perform their jobs safely, effectively, and efficiently
Manufacturing products that meet customer expectations utilizing good manufacturing practices (GMP) for cosmetic and pharmaceutical Ingredients
Shipping and receiving all goods associated with the Richmond Site while complying with local, state, federal, and international regulations and guidelines
Organizing manufacturing and shipping operations to match demand while operating within the budget
Collaborating with engineering to ensure manufacturing SOPs and equipment reflect a world-class facility
Collaborating with maintenance to minimize reactive maintenance and maximize preventative/predictive activities thus optimizing and reducing downtime
Leadership
Be the safety ambassador for the manufacturing and warehouse teams promoting and enforcing a culture where everyone is responsible for safety
Maintain a high level of accountability within the departments, treating everyone with an equal level of respect
Set annual goals and professional development opportunities to maximize employee effectiveness
Delegate effectively and empower others to grow professionally
Customer Focus
Monitor SOPs such that they reflect current practice and yield exceptional product
Validate manufacturing schedule
Participate in investigations for customer complaints and ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely fashion
Operational Excellence
Actively participate in, contribute to, and improve the safety culture
Regularly interface with the ERP (JUMP) and prepare manufacturing orders
Sponsor and participate in continuous improvement (C-IMP) efforts
Generate cost savings (FIT) projects/initiatives then execute plan through completion
Manage action plans to increase safety, productivity, quality, and on-time delivery
Monitor and report production yields and cycle times and work with engineers to improve
Capture relevant data and generate monthly reports
Make CAPEX investment proposals
Embrace a cost conscious approach to getting things done
Lead the 6s program for the Richmond Site
Required
Post high school education or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience
Understanding of manufacturing/shipping/receiving processes
Prior management/supervisory experience
Strong collaborator, enjoys working on a problem with others
Can-do attitude using innovation is a way of working
Attention to detail, driven to complete tasks complete and correct
Naturally leads by example
