Job Summary

The Senior Vice President, Head of Platform Engineering is a pivotal leadership role tasked with overseeing the entire lifecycle of software platform development. This includes the design, development, configuration, maintenance, and testing of robust software platforms that drive economies of scale for products or product groups such as Partner Sandbox or CI/CD pipeline.


 

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee the design and development of scalable and resilient technologies that serve as the backbone for product or product group operations. - (20%)
  • Lead the platform engineering division, setting the strategic direction and ensuring alignment with the company's overarching goals. - (15%)
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of engineers, architects, and managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. - (15%)
  • Work closely with product owners and engineering leads to conceptualize, build, and enhance platform features, ensuring seamless integration with the existing technology ecosystem. - (10%)
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) methodologies. - (10%)
  • Manage the platform engineering budget, resources, and vendors, ensuring efficient and effective allocation and utilization. - (10%)
  • Champion innovation, encouraging the exploration and adoption of cutting-edge technologies to maintain competitive advantage. - (10%)
  • Ensure platforms are designed with fault tolerance and disaster recovery in mind, maintaining high availability and performance standards. - (5%)
  • Foster a collaborative environment where cross-functional teams can work effectively towards common goals. - (5%)

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 18+ Years Experience in software platform engineering, with a proven track record in a senior leadership capacity.
  • 15+ years Direct Leadership Experience

  • Master’s Degree
  • 20+ years Experience in software platform engineering, with a proven track record in a senior leadership capacity.

Work Environment
  • Normal office environment. As a senior leader, must work at a Bread Financial office a minimum of 6 days per month. Ability to travel 6 days a month if not located near a Bread Financial office.

Salary Range (unless otherwise noted below):

$263,900.00 - $584,200.00

Full Salary Range for position:

California: $303,400.00 - $730,200.00

Colorado: $263,900.00 - $613,400.00

New York: $290,300.00 - $730,200.00

Washington: $277,100.00 - $671,800.00

Maryland: $277,100.00 - $642,600.00

Washington DC: $303,400.00 - $671,800.00

Illinois: $263,900.00 - $642,600.00

New Jersey: $303,400.00 - $671,800.00

Vermont: $263,900.00 - $584,200.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26.  New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period).  Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period.   Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
