Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Scrum Master (25-377) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based in Huntsville, AL, is vital in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to meet global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a crucial component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.

This position will serve as Scrum Master and provide Agile coaching for the Command and Control for Ballistic Missile Defense (C2BMC) software development team. The ideal candidate will lead and mentor teams on Agile processes and practices, collaborating with them and the Product Owner.

Essential Functions:

• Solid grasp of Agile practices and experience delivering products in short sprints
• The candidate will communicate effectively with customers and utilize both oral and written skills to establish strong relationships with stakeholders and team members
• The primary focus of the position will be aiding the development and execution of a plan to transition to an Agile methodology, including creating processes, templates, artifacts, training materials, and lessons learned

Basic Qualifications:

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant experience may be considered instead of a degree

• Current DoD Final Secret Clearance required before start

• Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% to support business needs
• Knowledge of Agile Methodologies with experience as Scrum Master
• Applicants must have the ability to triage scrum team issues based on priority, impact, risk, and release timing
• Outstanding time management skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong understanding of The Scrum Guide

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding systems engineering, software development, and verification cycles is beneficial
• Experience working as a Scrum Master within a Scrum team
• Experience with Agile development tools such as JIRA, Agility (Version One), or other Agile management solutions
• Experience in decomposing (or assisting in decomposing) Agile features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria
• Agile Certification, such as:

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
• Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP)
• SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
• Professional Scrum Master (PSM)

• Experience working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment
• Agile coaching experience is highly desirable

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Primary Level Salary Range: $131,100.00 - $196,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
