SSSD has an opening for a Principal Test Conductor/Test Conductor to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Redondo Beach, California.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop and publish test plans, test schedules and test procedures for all phases of testing.
• Support test planning working groups, plan and conduct test readiness reviews, and conduct pre and post test briefings. Interface with system and test engineering disciplines to develop tests and test data requirements.
• Create/Support procedure development and review in collaboration with other engineering disciplines and test operations personnel.
• Specify test article configurations and coordinate the integration of test modifications with subsystem test engineering and adjunct payload groups.
• Identify and coordinate the availability of test facilities and EGSE in support of all phases of ATL.
• Makes real-time personnel decisions regarding personal safety, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Provide mission control room support and lead multiple teams in the achievement of project milestones.
• Participate in post-test data evaluation and problem identification and resolution.
• Maintain metrics on status of testing and constraints, as well as implementation of lessons learned.
• Manage crew scheduling and workload distribution across multiple shifts.
• Must be able to travel and support all offsite mission critical milestones.
This position requires outstanding written and oral communications skills. Individual will be required to serve as focal point between management, design & test engineering, and test operations team. Individual must be able to work under only general direction to determine and develop approaches to solutions; must be able to work both within a team environment and independently; must be self-motivated, thorough, and detailed; and must be willing to learn additional engineering discipline areas.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Basic Qualifications:
Test Conductor: Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) plus 2 years of experience in a technical role OR Masters of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 0 years of experience in a technical role OR High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 6 years of experience in a technical role.
Principal Test Conductor: Bachelors of Science in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) plus 5 years of experience in a technical role OR Masters of Science in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline plus 3 years of experience in a technical role OR High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (G.E.D) plus 9 years of experience in a technical role.
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 10 years)
• Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
• Must be flexible, and able to support weekends or any shift
• Must be able to support offsite work 10%
• Must have basic Electrical test equipment knowledge (DMM’s, Oscilloscopes etc.)
• Must have RF test equipment knowledge (Spectrum & Network Analyzers, Power Meters, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active Top Secret clearance
• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience in lab integration, test and launch activities
• Experience with spacecraft power on test operations, command and telemetry
• Experience in Microsoft Office,
• Experience in reading Electrical cable layout and interconnect drawings
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
• Experience in RF testing and handling
