Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a experienced Principal Mechanical Facilities Engineer. This position is located in Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
Project Scope: Determine facility impacts and scope necessary to modify existing or construct new Facilities to meet the needs of the business.
Engineering Calculations: Building heat load analysis, fluid flow and pipe sizing, duct design, equipment sizing and selection, and other calculations as needed per project.
Code Analysis: Perform code and standards analysis on infrastructure solutions to be compliant to all applicable codes including: building code, mechanical code, fire code, plumbing codes, OSHA, etc.
Project Management: Plan and execute facility renovations, capital improvements, and infrastructure upgrades on time and within budget.
Financial Management: develop and manage project budgets, cost estimates for review, and capital expenditures.
Systems Oversight: Support maintenance organization with oversight of infrastructure at a systems level to ensure reliable operation of critical equipment.
Vendor Management: Coordinate contractors, negotiate contracts, and inspect work quality.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
5 years experience with BS in mechanical engineering; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD or other STEM degree.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time.
Strong analytical, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
Strong understanding of building systems, CAD design (AutoCAD / REVIT), real property design and construction.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Experience with ICD-705 construction and TEMPEST.
Professional Engineers license.
