The Woodlands Country Club - Palmer Course

The Woodlands is seeking a skilled and dedicated 1st Assistant Golf Professional to join our team. The 1st Assistant Golf Professional will play a key role in supporting the overall golf operations, assisting with member services, organizing events, and providing exceptional golf instruction.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to members and guests, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive golf experience.
  • Assist in managing the Pro Shop, including merchandise sales, inventory control, and customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with the Head Golf Professional to ensure smooth daily golf course operations.
  • Conduct individual and group golf lessons, focusing on player development and improvement.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of golf tournaments, outings, and special events.
  • Coordinate with the Head Golf Professional to ensure seamless event operations.
  • Conduct club fittings and provide equipment recommendations to golfers based on their individual needs and playing style.
  • Assist with member communication and engagement initiatives.
  • Stay informed about advancements in golf equipment technology.
  • Offer on-course playing lessons to help golfers apply their skills in a real-game setting.
  • Manage lesson scheduling, ensuring efficient use of time and optimal availability for members.
  • Utilize technology to facilitate online scheduling and communication.
  • Assist in monitoring the pace of play and enforcing course policies.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred PGA or LPGA certification or working towards certification.
  • Preferred proven experience as a Golf Professional with a strong teaching background.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of golf industry trends, rules, and etiquette.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
