About The Opportunity

This position supervises a maintenance crew responsible for maintaining and installing mechanical equipment and systems. It is accountable for implementing the preventive maintenance program, setting priorities, and addressing break/fix issues. The role includes selecting, training, evaluating, disciplining, motivating, and ensuring the safety of the mechanical maintenance team. It also ensures employee compliance with all safety procedures.

The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Implements maintenance and engineering strategies to assure operational reliability consistent with the needs of the operational facility and to ensure the maximum availability and longevity of assets
  • Accountable for key Maintenance performance metrics including work order completion and machine reliability
  • Supports equipment feasibility studies and makes recommendations for investment; implements capital expenditure project and is accountable for payback expectations
  • Supports operations leaders to develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
  • Executes the annual financial plan and monitors performance within planned budget
  • Designs, develops, and manages capital projects to enhance efficiencies, improve performance, and meet growth plans, including defining the scope of work, budget, schedule and responsibilities
  • Develop and execute site’s preventative maintenance program
  • Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to implement capital investment projects to drive operational excellence
  • Supports key stakeholders on project design and management, supplier selection and scheduling coordination, new equipment acquisition and installation, materials acquisition, audits and process changes
  • Assures compliance with Company’s EAM platform
  • Assures all tasks are performed in a safe manner, and comply with all company, local, state, and federal requirements
  • Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance the salaried and hourly production team, working closely with direct reports
  • Interacts with key stakeholders to provide technical support and/or resolve equipment reliability issues
  • Maintains industry, professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree desired
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers, environment and site
  • Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements and management of a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of the physical environment and full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques for preventing and addressing theft of assets, theft of information, vandalism, sabotage and other threats to a manufacturing facility
  • Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing, including its safe usage, maintenance and storage
  • Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processes

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in a production and/or warehouse setting with time also spent in an office setting
  • Frequent walking and standing required
  • Occasional travel required
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
