Job Summary

This position provides medical expertise and technical support to the company worldwide operations in all health-related subjects in line with company policies and procedures. The Senior Manager, Medical Services also liaises with our customers’ medical teams to ensure alignment and adequate medical response and treatment facilities are identified and monitored in all countries where the company works. This role requires travel to meet with topside medical providers and their facilities in all areas of the world where our rigs are located to ensure the appropriate level of care and establish medial emergency response procedures.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Active monitoring of company worldwide medical events including ensure the most appropriate and timely response in liaison with local medical resources and topside Doctors as required.
  • Provide global support to ensure compliance with any company health related policies and procedures. This support to be provided remotely and/or on location as required.
  • Manage the medical components of the company Medtrack program in collaboration with human resources.
  • Monitoring and quality control of topside medical support delivery.
  • Maintain and update the company medical policies and procedures and medical protocols.
  • Maintain high levels of communication with all the company’s rig Doctors.
  • Participate in the corporate incident classification reviews.
  • Provide SME support to HR and risk functions as required.
  • Maintain working relationships with customers’ health representatives.
  • Attend professional conferences, seminars and calls to ensure medical knowledge remains current.

Education:

  • Minimum Required: PhD

Experience:

  • Minimum Required: Medical Doctor with 5+ years professional experience.

Skills:

  • This position requires high levels of communication skills, spoken and written. Must have the ability to hold conversation with executive management within and outside the company. The ability to network in the global medical expat world is a must. Sound knowledge of managing remote cases and initiating repatriation requirements. The role requires the person to be able to travel internationally and evaluate medical facilities globally and provide recommendations to operations on the content of their MERP documents.
