Position Overview:
The Server Captain role at Amelia Gene’s is a leadership-focused hourly server position designed to support the service team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. Server Captains will not have formal managerial duties, such as scheduling, hiring, or discipline. Instead, they will serve as senior team members on the floor during service, setting the standard for service excellence, assisting with shift execution, and supporting training efforts.


Key Responsibilities:
● Lead by example in service standards, guest engagement, professionalism, and teamwork during all shifts.
● Provide on-the-floor support to servers, server assistants, and bartenders to ensure smooth service flow.
● Assist with the execution of pre-shift meetings when requested by management (e.g., sharing best practices, service tips, or wine/cocktail knowledge).
● Serve as a resource for new team members during onboarding and training shifts, offering mentorship and guidance.
● Communicate real-time feedback to management regarding service flow, guest needs, or operational challenges during shifts.
● Support service for VIP guests, large parties, or other special assignments as directed.
● Maintain full menu, wine, and cocktail knowledge to assist guests and support the team.
● Uphold Amelia Gene’s brand standards and service values at all times.
● Meet weekly with the General Manager to discuss service performance, areas for improvement, and team needs.


Qualifications:
● Minimum of1 Year of service experience at Amelia Gene’s
● Strong communication skills and the ability to lead by example.

● High level of professionalism, guest focus, and attention to detail.
● Ability to positively influence team morale and maintain a solutions-oriented mindset.
● Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

This is an hourly, non-exempt role. This position does not carry any formal managerial authority (e.g., disciplinary action, hiring, firing, scheduling decisions).
