• A construction expeditor must be organized and competent to handle several tasks. 

• You should have excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities. 

• Project management expertise as well as familiarity with fundamental technical and buying concepts will be highly helpful. 

• Must routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, but only on a regular basis, up to 25 pounds. 

• Specifically calls for near vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the capacity to change focus. 

Education & Experience 

• Minimum 1-2 years of driving experience  

• Requires a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a motor vehicle in a safe manner while carefully observing all traffic regulations 

• Forklift experience, unloading/loading construction material

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

• Determine supply needs through technical details and schedules 

• Manage the orders of material and equipment to meet project requirements 

• Coordinate the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications 

• Resolve problems to speed up delivery of orders 

• Inspect orders upon arrival to ensure the correct quality and quantity 

• Monitor inventory of supplies for different jobs or sites 

• Place orders when needed aiming for timely delivery and competitive price 

• Arrange the movement of material between locations 

• Maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors

Work Conditions/Physical Demands   

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.    

• Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.   

• No adverse environmental conditions expected.  

• Must be able to work in high noise volumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, dusty conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, proximity to other employees.
